According to the pricing we received, the Low dealer price was right around $8000, meaning that even at cost, the bike would still be just over $6000. I hope they adjust their pricing, because right now its not likely that they will sell many bikes, especially when there are many other great bikes out there for less money.

Very cool bike, but no one has mentioned how ridiculous the pricing is! We received our new 2009 pricing from trek, and the Session 88 DH is supposed to retail right around $8000 Canadian! The cost of the frame alone is $2500! Its a neat bike and all, but the price is way high especially considering most of the parts are no different than what you'd find on your average $6000 DH bike.

I'm going with gearbox, the 8 hints at possibly 8 gears, and I could see why their keeping it so secretive, if it was a pedal, they would have already shown us a picture, its not like a new pedal is any innovation. So I say its an 8spd gearbox.

It's a real shame that everyone has to pay for a few kids not riding within their abilities. Hopefully they don't make the trails too easy to ride. I think that the assessment is a good idea, and it should apply to any beginner rider regardless of age. A guy in his 20's could still just as easily get hurt by riding stuff he shouldn't be.

that's a pretty week tour schedule if you ask me. No Canadian stops, and nothing in the Northeast (at least, not northeast enough for me). I also wouldn't consider Interbike as part of the tour. I hope they add some more dates to their schedule.

Will be interesting to see what they come up with as riding gear, seems to me they should have waited to at least have some samples before they made a press release. Now it looks like they just make T-shirts, hoodies and hats, which doesn't really make them a company just yet.

Looks like a fun DH course, but not very technical. Dual looks sweet!

Also, to note, my wheels were built by I9 using Mavic's 823UST rims.

I rad a set of I9 wheels all last summer, and quite enjoyed them, but they weren't as trouble free as described. I had the rear wheel loose tension on me multiple times, and everytime I re-tensioned them, they would still come loose. I think the only way to prevent them loosening would be to use some spoke prep on the threads. As well, my dis side bearing was shot after about 6 weeks of use, the driveside was fine even after the entire summer. Also the preload feature of the hub is great and all, but it is not very user friendly, there is no way to take out the slack easily without using the tiny 1.5mm allen key set screw as leverage. I had to adjust the preload on my hub about 3 times throughout the summer. Not a big deal, but I really think they should have some wrench flats on that adjuster to make it easier to adjust. Don't get me wrong, these are great wheels, and they do make the bike feel amazing. Infact, I've already ordered a new wheelset for 2008, so I'm still willing to give these wheels another try. Oh and the freewheel sound really is awesome, everyone wonders what hub you have when you roll past them.

White Lightning Clean Streak is the best cleaner out there, works magic for getting your rotors clean, and also removes tacky residue from stickers, and will clean pretty much anything. Also works really well as a degreaser. Brake cleaner is nothing new. You can even go to Canadian tire and get automotive brake cleaner, its all the same stuff. Now chain lubes can be a different story. Don't expect to see any shops in N/A carying any of this stuff, not likely that you'll see it anywhere. There's already comparable stuff from the other large brands like Finish Line, Pedros, and White Lightning.

A bit expensive for my taste, but an excellent training tool if you've got the money to spend.

Will be cool to see if they come up with some new frames for him to ride, or at least some custom Geo for 4x.

Too bad they aren't selling all 3 tunes from the distributors, your stuck with a tune "B" and if you want it tune A or C you have to send it in for service. Also, at least here in Canada, there is no hardware or springs available for the shocks yet, and they don't have the tools available either.

Holy crap that's light for a DH bike, and I thought my bike was going to be pretty light! Clearly they did some things to really shave the weight down, I don't know if some of those parts will last a season though!

I think its great that MRP came up with a guide like that, but its pretty obvious that they took their design cues from another company, although they did add their own touch which is nice. I think I'll stick with what I've got.
