Santa Cruz doesn't work with model years, they only thing that was changed is the graphics, which was a running change. I purchased the frame new in 2009 and this is what Santa Cruz shipped our store. Hence the frame is a 2009, just not with the newer updated graphics

if you read the ad, you'd see that there are no 34 moto shorts listed.

Prices on the TLD site are in US Dollars, and they won't ship to Canada anyways.

Are you getting a WC or a Team? I should be getting one pretty soon too. Ya that fork was never as smooth as I had hoped it would be.

Nice, looks good. How's that fork treating you? Still going strong?

This is what it weighed straight out of the box with no rear shock. It includes the Seat collar, rear axle, fender, derailleur hanger and the two steel 8mm shock bolts.

I was there today, that jump didn't look very safe, and the takeoff was bumpy.

I'll entertain offers, but within reason. I think its a fair price for the crank, but you can make me an offer and we'll see.

I did consider the SJ, and I had the chance to ride the 08 expert as well as the 09 elite, but I decided that the Enduro was more what I was looking for. The terrain around here is rough and full of rock and roots, so the extra travel is nice to have. Although the SJ has 5" it still feels quite a bit like an XC bike when descending, it doesn't have that extra cush that smoothes out the rough stuff. Specialized claims that the Enduro climbs equally as well as the SJ, but descends that much better (50/50 vs. 50/60 for the enduro) I also have the opportunity to use a 2009 Epic Expert this summer, so if I ever want to do some hardcore XC, I can always use that bike.

I personally like a slack bike, I come from a DH backround, and don't like the feeling of a nervous XC bike. The front end is a bit tall, which makes a bigger difference than the headtube angle when climbing. The ideal solution is a Talas fork that you can adjust when climbing, or something similar from rockshox with a u-turn. Unfortunately, the Comp lever bike does not have the talas fork, but the expert does. You can't see it in any of the pictures of this bike, but there is a 1/2" taller headset lower race that corrects the geo to be the same as the E150 fork. I plan on taking off the stock headset, and putting on a King which will lower the front end, and also make it a tad steeper. You can also make the bike steeper by changing the shock mount position, but this will also make the BB higher. I also put on a lower rise bar than the stock Enduro bar, which also helps lower the front end. Also, the thomson stem is a 0 degree rise, whereas the stock stem is 8/16 adjustable. I think when all is said and done, the bike should ride a bit better with the front end lowered. I'd be curious to know what the total effective change from those three things will be.

so far so good, i like the 4 position compression adjust, great from climbing and descending. I've only had 2 rides on the bike so far, still too much snow here to get any good riding in yet.

looking good. Just need something on those chainstays to protect from the chain slap! I think that bike needs a black fork, the Red would just look silly.

I get them direct because of the sponsorship, a bearing supply place should be able to get you NSK's if you ask for them.

The new freehub mechanism is very nice, I've got a set of the new crossmax SX on my 4x bike and the engagement is very good, much quicker, and the sound is also very nice. Not too loud or quiet, it just lets you know its working. Hopefully they new design has also improved sealing, because I know the older design would let lots of crud get into the freehub and clog up the springs and pawls.

50/50XX are the sealed bearing version, the 50/50X are a non sealed bearing (loose ball bearing, so not as smooth or durable)
