Santa Cruz doesn't work with model years, they only thing that was changed is the graphics, which was a running change. I purchased the frame new in 2009 and this is what Santa Cruz shipped our store. Hence the frame is a 2009, just not with the newer updated graphics

yeah, and they held up pretty well. because they're softer they actually rode really nice, not as harsh a ride as the 823
